The Laboratory Ball Mill, or attritor, is a versatile refiner for recipe formulation and process development of chocolate, as well as compound and specialty confectionery coatings. It is a stirred ball mill with a variable speed drive and a self-contained, temperature controlled heat and cool water system The Lab Ball Mill features 3 interchangeable, jacketed vessels, for approximately 1, 3, and 5 pound batches of chocolate or coating. The maximum set point for the vessel jackets is 160°F, or 71°C. The large product vessel features a center tube and agitator screw for product circulation. The Lab Ball Mill is supplied with 3/8 inch and 1/4 inch hardened chrome grinding media. A stainless separation screen is also included to manually separate grinding media from chocolate.
